BUYING AND SELLING

Q: Can CENTURY 21 help me with a commercial investment property?
A: Yes, the CENTURY 21 Commercial Investment Network can help. These specially trained professionals can help you choose the commercial property that is most appropriate for you, or help you to realize a return on your investment.

To find a specialist, search for an office with a Market Specialty of Commericial.

Q: Can CENTURY 21 help with timeshare properties?
A: A CENTURY 21 broker or sales associate can help you buy or sell a timeshare. For information on a specific location or property, please contact a CENTURY 21 office directly for help or a referral.
Q: What if no properties are displayed in my search results?
A: Please broaden your search parameters on the property search form.

Double check your search parameters and choose fewer limiting options. For example, instead of specifying city, state and zip, please only choose city and state.

You can also revise your property search by increasing the radius. This will enable our search engine to find available properties that surround the town, county, or zip code you select.

If you revise your search and still find no properties, please contact a CENTURY 21 office for information about property listings that are not marketed on the Internet.

Q. I listed my home with CENTURY 21. When will I see it online?
A: The nearly quarter million property listings on Century21.com are updated six times a week. Each office can add or edit property listing information. For questions about your property details or photos, please contact a CENTURY 21 sales associate or the office that listed your home.
Q. Is the commission negotiable?
A: Yes. There is no standard commission. They are not set by law and vary depending on service, customer needs, and company policy. In general, agents charge between 4 percent and 8 percent for full service. Some agents prefer not to offer sellers the option of paying a fee for an individual service. If you insist on overpricing your home, an agent may well insist on a higher commission to cover the added marketing expenses and time that are needed to sell it. Think of a commission as a point you must negotiate and evaluate.
Q. Can CENTURY 21 help me with a rental property?
A: Yes, a CENTURY 21 broker or sales associate can help you with a rental property. You must contact a CENTURY 21 office directly as rental properties are not listed on Century21.com.
Q. What is an "MLS?"
A: MLS stands for "Multiple Listing Service," which are lists of properties in a local area. There are hundreds of MLS companies across the United States. From state to state, each MLS company assigns a numeric code to each property listing. This code is unique to the property in that respective state. However, because there are so many MLS companies nationwide, sometimes the MLS numbers are duplicated for some properties across the country.
Q. Why do I see several properties with the same MLS number?
A: There are many different Multiple Listing Service (MLS) lists across the United States. Occasionally, the same number can be used on multiple lists.
